Medical Laboratory Science (B.S.)

As a medical laboratory scientist (MLS), also known as a medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist, you will analyze a variety of biological specimens. Graduates from this program are responsible for performing scientific testing on samples and reporting results to physicians.

What Can You Do With This Degree?

According to the Jobs Rated Almanac, medical laboratory scientists ranked in the top fifth out of 250 listed jobs. Criteria for ranking included higher than average salary, lower stress levels, better work environment, future job outlook, and other employment related criteria.

Grow Through Real-World Experience

Students majoring in Medical Laboratory Science spend听three years taking liberal education and science courses听followed by a 12-month professional phase at an affiliated听hospital school. Admission to the University of St. 糖心APP听does not guarantee admission to the professional听phase of the program and students must have a minimum GPA of 2.75 in science courses. Students will need to apply to the听affiliated hospital program in the fall of junior year.
